Block It Out

I am having a little thing for the block-heel sandal these days... It's high enough to give your legs a little va-va-voom but low enough to still be comfortable for running around town. The Lanvin I love. But alas the Zara is in my pay grade. Zara really never misses when it comes to current trends. And I cannot for the life of me figure out how they've found a leather that is cheap enough for them to charge $89.90 for the sandal but nice enough to feel buttery soft on your feet. I bought the strappy sandals on the right and my feet have never been happier! Perfect with a denim shirt and white jeans.

The warm weather and bright flowers in bloom all around me are making me crave vibrant pieces to add to my wardrobe. The two below scream bohemian chic. Aztec prints are on the top of my list. J.Crew's popover top would be fabulous with a classic white tee, ankle-length jeans, and the Zara sandals above. Only issue is that it's a bit of an investment for a style that is having a "moment" that might soon be over. A fun way to try the trend is Madewell's more understated colorblocked sweater. It has that same pop of color, feels ethnically inspired, and won't feel like such a commitment because of the reasonable price-point. Haven't bought it yet but I think I might have to cruise over to Madewell on Greenwich Avenue tomorrow to try it on...
